Our short-term Carpentry training lets you master real-world skills in a hands-on environment, where you'll learn how to use power tools, read building plans, install subfloor and windows, and frame walls and roofs. Upon completion of this 5-month course, you will earn your NCCER Core and NCCER Carpentry Level 1 certifications.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

WHEN: 08/11/2025 - 01/27/2026. Class is held Monday through Thursday from 5-9:30 p.m.

WHERE: St. Martinville campus. 

COST: $7,000 includes tools, tool belt, and tool bag included. (You may qualify for tuition assistance. Contact 337-521-9028 or workforce@solacc.edu for information).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Age requirement: 16+.
  • No High School, GED or HiSET required.*

*A high school or HiSET diploma is required for most financial aid grant applications.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Whether you want to work in residential or commercial construction, or as a repair worker, SoLAcc will prepare you for life as a carpenter after graduation.
