NOTE: The FAFSA asks for a marital status as of the day you complete the FAFSA. So, if you are currently married but were not married in 2023 (and did not file taxes as “married”), you will need to add your spouse’s 2023 income to your FAFSA.
What is a FSA ID?
A FSA ID is a username and password that you must use to log in to certain U.S. Department of Education (ED) websites. Your FSA ID identifies you as someone who has the right to access your own personal information on ED websites such as studentaid.gov. FSA IDs do not expire.
If you are a parent of a dependent student, you will need your own FSA ID to sign their FAFSA electronically. If you have more than one student attending college, you can use the same FSA ID to sign all applications.
NOTE: Each FSA ID user must have a unique e-mail address.
